Introducing Reiki
What Happens in A Reiki Session? In a typical Reiki therapy session, a Reiki practitioner will place their hands on or above a client, acting like an aerial to pass healing energy to the client. Reiki therapy involves the practitioner placing her hands above the client's chakra points (see "A Bit About Your Chakras") encouraging energy to flow to and through the client's chakras. The energy does not belong to the Reiki practitioner, but rather comes from the unending, boundless, and infinite supply of universal life force. Traditional Reiki sessions last roughly one hour, with approximately five minutes being spent on each chakra (8 areas on the front; 4 areas on the back). However, most Reiki therapists will adjust the time spent on various areas of the body as is required and is intuited by the therapist. To see the positions, please visit the "What does a Reiki Treatment Look Like" page.

Reiki is a very simple, natural healing technique. It is non-invasive, gentle, and can do no harm. It is used for healing oneself or others for physical, mental, emotional or spiritural ailments. It is used to help the general welfare of anyone willing to receive this loving energy.
My website aims to introduce the ideas of reiki. There are many very good internet resources and books available to help you learn more if you want to dig deep! Visit my "Links" page for other sites with valuable information. And please feel free to suggest other good sites by emailing me at [email protected] The "ki" part of Reiki is the energy comprising every thing that exists. It is ours, it is in us, it is what we are. The "rei" part of reiki is generally regarded as the universal aspect of energy (in Japanese language it is translated as spirit, or spiritual consciousness. This "rei" energy is everywhere, all the time and connects everything. The energy that comes to a client who requires healing is pooled from the universe and attends to the client who accepts the healing for their highest good, whatever that may be. This energy is available to anyone who requires it, wants it and intends to heal. Living by the PrinciplesDr Usui measured the success of his days by living through five principles of enlightenment.
